You can support the ministry of More Than Carpentry just by searching on the internet and making online purchases. Many of us do these activities daily. By using GoodSearch every search and online purchase earns money for More Than Carpentry. It is easy to use and doesn’t cost you a penny. The only thing you need to do is go to GoodSearch.com and type in “More Than Carpentry Christian Ministries” then go about your normal online activities. When you need to make an online purchase, just go through the GoodSearch site and a percentage of your total order is donated to the ministry. This is an easy way to support MTC without even spending a dime. It only takes a few key strokes and a couple of seconds of your time. Hundreds of stores are represented. Even Ebay! You can also watch the donations grow by clicking on the “Amount Raised” button on the web site. Thanks for your support!

In an effort to accomodate all of our donors, we have added the option to make donations through PayPal on our website. Just click on the logo at the bottom right of the web page. More Than Carpentry has received determination of non-profit status from the IRS. This means all donations are tax deductible and can be made directly to More Than Carpentry Christian Ministries. This is a major develoment in our progress toward the goal of opening by the fall of 2008. We can now begin grant writing and raising funds to complete the building renovations.

More Than Carpentry launched the Lumber Club in October. This is an opportunity for individuals and groups to support the McGarry family as we work full-time developing the ministry in Wellston.

You can join the club at the following levels:

2×4= $24/month

4×4=$44/month

6×6=$66/month

1×12=$112/month 

Just print a response card from the November Newsletter and return it with your pledge for a one or two year committment. Or you can write your pledge level in the memo line of your check.

I can’t believe it is already September. Where does the time go? School has started back and we are settling into a routine again after a busy, productive summer. Our September issue of the MTC Newsletter has been posted on the Newsletter page of this site. Also, don’t forget to join us for our 1st Annual Pig Roast Barbeque! We’d love to see everyone there who has been involved with the ministry and also would love for this to be an opportunity for people to learn more about us.  There will be live music, tours, slide show and fellowship!!! Come on out and join us if you can. All the information you need to know is included in the September newsletter or on the Pig Roast flyer posted on that same page.

Please join us for an Open House Pig Roast for fun and fellowship. We want all our volunteers, donors, neighbors, friends, family, and everyone else who wants to celebrate with us God’s goodness and the amazing progress in the first year of MTC’s history in Wellston. Please plan to attend and bring a dish to share, a game to play and a lawn chair to relax. No Work allowed, unless, of course you are willing to come early to set up or stay late to clean up. The summer is winding down and we are so grateful to have received so much help. We are hosting a BBQ/Pig Roast for all to come and see the progress. If you haven’t been here before this would be a fantastic opportunity to visit our site, see pictures, play games and just have some fellowship. We’ve worked really hard together all summer, let’s spend some time playing together!!! Bring a dish and outdoor games to share and plan on a picnic style meal. Hope to see you there.

It was great to have over 20 volunteers show up in the midst of a St. Louis heat wave to help with yard work, clearing out areas of the building, installing a new copier, and mailing newsletters. As a special thank-you, the MTC Board sponsored a barbecue for our volunteers. Pastor George even did the grilling!

We want to let all our volunteers (even those who couldn’t be here today) know that we’re extremely thankful for their labor and that we praise God for all that he has accomplished through them. Although, there is still much work to be done, the progress so far has been amazing! Thank you all so much!
